A Heartfelt Farewell to Fr. Pierre
With deep gratitude and affection, the parish community of Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish bids farewell to Fr. Pierre as he begins his next mission of faith.
We thank God for the blessing of his presence among us — for his gentle guidance, his compassionate heart, his warm smile and the dedication with which he served our parish family. Through his ministry, he touched lives, strengthened faith, and reminded us of the beauty of walking together in Christ.
As Fr. Pierre moves forward to serve in his new community, we carry with us the example he leaves behind: a priest who listens with patience, prays with sincerity, and loves with humility. Though we will miss his joyful spirit and pastoral care, we rejoice knowing that he continues the mission God has entrusted to him.
May the Lord accompany him every step of the way, may Our Lady of Fatima protect him, and may the Holy Spirit fill his new ministry with grace, courage, and abundant blessings.
Thank you, Fr. Pierre, for everything you have shared with us. You will always remain in our prayers and in the hearts of our parish.
In Christ,
Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish
Fr. Pierre will begin a new chapter in his ministry next week as he transitions to St. Ann’s Parish in Abbotsford. He will be present this weekend at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish as he celebrates his final Mass at 11:30 am, allowing our parishioners and friends to offer him a heartfelt and personal farewell.
A farewell lunch for Fr. Pierre will take place on Sunday, July 19, following the 11:30 am Mass. The cost is $25 per person, and children under 5 are free.
To reserve your seats, please contact the parish office by Thursday, July 16, no later than 3:00 pm. You may call the office after 1:00 pm or email parish.olfv@rcav.org to confirm your participation.
We appreciate your understanding regarding the timing of this announcement, as it follows the final confirmation of both Fr. Pierre’s departure and Fr. Adilso’s arrival schedules.
Let us keep Fr. Pierre in our prayers as he begins his new journey of faith.
