Father Rosemond Sylvestre will leave Our Lady of Fatima on Monday, August 16, 2021, while becoming Pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows in Vancouver alongside Associate Pastor Father Firmo Mantovanni. In transition; Father Pierre Vertus, currently serving at St Luke Church in Irving, Texas, who celebrated his 5th ordination anniversary on January 30, 2021, will be Pastor at Our Lady of Fatima. Also arriving at Our Lady of Fatima to be in residence, we welcome back Father Antonio Tapparello currently in residence at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Abbotsford.

As we are saddened to see Father Rosemond move on from Our Lady of Fatima, we thank him immensely for his services and for guiding us through the most turbulent times of the Catholic Church amid the COVID-19 pandemic since his arrival in February 2020. His perseverance, wisdom and guidance in our faith have aligned us for a strong recovery upon keeping the community of Our Lady of Fatima striving for new normalcy. His mission during these uncharted times will leave a memorable footprint in the annals of our parish’s history as we move forward. We wish him all the best as he succeeds in his vocational journey as a Missionary of St Charles - Scalabrinian. Father Rosemond’s final masses will be celebrated on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

On Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, immediately after each mass, join us to bid farewell to Fr. Rosemond. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided in the parish hall.

On Monday, August 16, 2021, we welcome Father Pierre Vertus and Father Antonio Tapparello to continue their Scalabrinian mission in serving the Portuguese-English community of Our Lady of Fatima.
